Ten years on and Wolfkop Weekender sits firmly as one of South Africa’s favourite boutique music festivals.
Started in 2014 as ‘a weekend away with a music festival happening to be happening’, the Wolfkop experience has never detoured too far from this initial philosophy. Health, spiritual wealth, rest and relaxation are as much a part of the Wolfkop experience as dancing till your knees hurt to the finest DJs and live electronic musicians South Africa and the world have to offer.
Centered around the crystal clear waters of the Olifants River just outside of Citrusdal, the Weekender site would be hard to beat for a place to have a party, in any part of the world. Cascading mountains on both sides of the valley hem you in with the orange orchards that perfume the glorious mountain air. Hangovers don’t hang around in this part of the world, a tried and tested fact – believe us!
After turning ten years old in January 2024, the team at Wolfkop decided to consolidate three festivals a year into one – meaning the best of all worlds come together for four memorable days and nights in January. Regular guests will remember Lilo River Flow, Power Flower Picnic, Cooked Sister and Island on the River fondly as stand alone events that changed the way festivals occurred. But as we have grown up and grown older we have decided to roll all of these concepts into one annual festival – simply known as Wolfkop Weekender.
